PURPOSE: A nonaqueous electrolyte solution and a lithium battery employing the electrolyte solution are provided, to improve the overcharging stability by oxidation-degrading the electrolyte solution to form polymers in case of voltage rising due to overcharging, thereby consuming the overcharged current to protect a battery, to inhibit the swelling and to prevent the deterioration of the lifetime and the standard capacity. CONSTITUTION: The nonaqueous electrolyte solution comprises a lithium salt; 1-20 wt% of a mixture of the compound represented by the formula 1 and the hydride of the compound represented by the formula 2; and an organic solvent, wherein R1 to R5 are the same or different each other and are H, a halogen atom, an alkyl group of C1-C4, an alkoxy group of C1-C4, a nitro group or an amine group; X is a halogen atom, an alkyl group of C1-C4, an alkoxy group of C1-C4, a nitro group or an amine group; and n is an integer of 1-10. |
