A method and a device for packaging a load body capable of easily packaging bulk packaged material with stretch film by compressingly treating the packaged material in a rectangular parallelepiped shape, the method comprising the steps of forming the stretch film 16, 111 in tubular shape by moving to the open end sides of tubular skirt parts 1a, 101a with open ends while spirally winding the film on the outer peripheral surfaces of the tubular skirt parts 1a, 101a, and extruding the packaged materials 40, 130 from the inside of the skirt parts 1a, 101a in pressed state according to the movement of the tubular wound film, whereby the packaged materials 40, 130 are pressed into the tubular wound film delivered from the open ends of the skirt parts 1a, 101a, and the tubular wound film is cut off at positions apart from both ends of the packaged materials 40, 130 or sealed at both ends of the packaged materials 40, 130.
