A glass, glass-ceramic or ceramic vessel with improved pouring properties for aqueous liquids has a pouring rim which is provided with a hydrophobic organo-silicon layer by treating the surface of the rim with a poly-alkyl-hydrogen-silane or a perfluoroalkylsilane.
