The invention proposes that the headlamp is formed of a group of LEDs (2), either in parallel or in series. As the light from white LEDs is not precisely directed by arranging these in parallel rows a parallel beam results. Small individual reflectors for each LED can be of help. To ensure that the beam is directed in a specific direction the lamp cover glass can be provided with small, hemispherical protrusions which act as auxiliary lenses.
