The container is used for the storage and shipment of liquefied natural gas under pressure of approximately of from 1035 kPa (150 psia and temperature about -123 degrees C (-190 degrees F) to about -62 degrees C (-80 degrees F). It ensures the required strength and resilience of destruction under the conditions of elevated pressure and at cryogenic temperatures, as well as reduced material consumption. The container is fabricated by interconnection of a plurality of individual sheets of super high-strength low alloyed steel, containing less than 9 wt.% of nickel, having tensile strength greater than 830 MPa (120 ksi) and DBTT lower than about -73 degrees C (-100 degrees F). The method for the treatment of natural gas includes the conversion of the gas into liquefied natural gas under pressure in the said boundaries of pressure and cryogenic temperature and the storage of the turned out product in the containers. 21 claims, 5 figures
