The energy center has a similar configuration as a standard water tower, with a storage space (1) below ground and a storage space (2) above ground, which are connected together via a coupling section (3) incorporating a pump (4), for raising a liquid quantity from the lower storage space to the higher storage space. The operating power for the pump is provided by photovoltaic modules mounted on the outer surfaces (6) of the energy center, the raised liquid used for driving a turbine-generator combination (5), delivering power to the electrical supply network.
