The invention relates to a germination device for the production of sprouts, which comprises at least one (preferably several, in particular three) sprout-containing and germination vessel(s) (3<sb>1</sb>, 3<sb>2</sb>, ...), which is (are) ventilated, intermittently rotatable and automatically time-controlled, as well as a device, which is intermittently activatable and opens out into said vessel or vessel segments, for spray irrigating (21, 22) seeds which are introduced in the vessel(s). Said invention permits a high yield and a constant quality for different types and several species of sprouts to be simultaneously obtained.
