Diagonal register for a print machine, especially a sheet offset-printer with an inking mechanism has a looping cylinder (13) mounted in bearings (14) in the sidewalls (16, 17) of the printer. The cylinder can be sloped and is driven by a gear wheel (19a). The gear wheel is separately mounted in one of the side walls (16) of the printer and is only linked to the guide cylinder via a torsion force conducting linkage (27).
