The device has a vacuum pump with a rotor shaft for driving the pump connected to a drive shaft mounted in an engine housing, an air suction port connected to the load, a lubricant feed to the pump, an outlet channel for a lubricant-air mixture, and an air channel in the engine housing connected to the outlet channel. A lubricant separator in the outlet channel and/or air channel filters at least some lubricant from the lubricant-air mixture. The device has a vacuum pump (10) attached to an engine housing (24) with a rotor shaft (14) for driving the pump connected to a drive shaft (40) mounted in the engine housing, an air suction port (20) connected to the load, a lubricant feed (66) to the pump, an outlet channel (22) in the pump for a lubricant-air mixture and an air channel (58) in the engine housing connected to the outlet channel.
