The invention relates to a cooking device comprising a muffle defining a cooking chamber (10), at least one upper heating unit (12, 13), a hot air heating unit (14) and a high-speed heating unit (15) for regulating a high-speed heating mode, in addition to a control (16). In order to provide a device advantageously enabling rapid heating while avoiding wherever possible undesirable burning of remains of food during said high-speed heating mode, the control unit (16) exclusively regulates the high-speed heating mode in association with the hot air heating unit (14) and activates the upper heating unit (12,13).
