Recording-apparatus for the automatic evaluation of a perforated-tape record strip R on which measurement marks L1, L2, L3 are disposed one behind the other at intervals which are proportional to the sum of a constant zero feed and a variable power feed and on which a mark L4 corresponds to each day's recording, comprises a relay A in a circuit associated with a scanning finger T1 past which the strip R is driven at constant speed by a motor M1 controlled by the relay A which together with a relay B controls motors M2, M3 which rotate in opposite directions and displace a pen SF across a record paper RP which is moved forward intermittently by a motor M4 under the control of further relays. Each synchronous motor M1, M2, M3, M4 can be connected through two change-over switches to an alternating voltage source or to a direct voltage source and in the former case runs at constant speed and in the latter is braked and stopped. As shown, the line l1 has just been traced corresponding in length to the distance between the marks L1, L2 and the finger Tl has completed a circuit through relay A throwing switches a1, a2, a3, a4 to the right to stop the motors M1, M2 and closing a5, to energize relay B which starts the motor M3 for returning the pen SF to initial position where it closes a switch e1 to energize a relay c and, more slowly, a relay I. Opening switch c1 releases relay B and stops motor M3 while closing switch c2 energizes a relay D to start motor M4 which advances the paper RP through a feed roller TW which opens a switch w after one revolution and causes a relay F to release the relay D and stop the motor M4. A slow relay G releases relay A and motors M1, M2 start again to monitor and record the next measure, the slow relay I ensures that relays F, G release in good time. Recording is stopped by each day mark L4 co-operating with a scanning finger T2 to energize relay H and open the first scanning circuit at h and only begin again upon the operation of a manual switch T.
