LIQUID ATOMIZATION METHOD AND DEVICE

The invention relates to a method and a device for atomizing a liquid, especially in the chemical, food, pharmaceutical industries, and in other fields of activity. The atomizing method consists in submerging the tip of a conical solid body into the liquid to be atomized and then in entraining the same in a rotary motion about its own vertical axis, at an adjustable speed. The liquid is lifted thereby as a film along the generatrix of the body and, when it reaches the upper peripheral edge, it is discharged as drops having nearly equal sizes. The device for applying the method consists of a conical solid body (1) arranged with the tip (a) oriented downwards and having a vertical symmetry axis. A centering coupling (4) required for the entrainment of the body in the rotary motion by means of the shaft (3) of a motor (2) is mounted onto the upper part of the solid body (1).
