The invention relates to a protein-based flour employed in feeding animals and poultry, prepared by using a homogeneous mixture of collagen in a 45...50% solution resulting from the melting operation performed by the slow cooking of the bones from shambles, said bones being subjected to three successive deliming operations in a 7% HCl solution, and fodder-type lime carbonate as powder, containing: 50...60 parts by weight of collagen and 50...40 parts by weight of fodder-type lime carbonate, wherefrom a dark brown-brownish odourless protein-based flour containing 45...55% protein and 25...30% active Ca results, the preparation process consisting in mixing the collagen with the fodder-type lime carbonate homogeneously, pouring the mixture in metal trays, drying it in an oven at the temperature of 300 degree C until reaching a humidity of 5% at most, and milling it in a hammer mill.
