The light has a light source (2) connected via a bearer (3) to a base (4) and a pivotal joint (5) with two mutually relatively movable joint parts (6,7) on at least one bearer arm end for pivoting the bearer arm in a plane. One joint part is connected to at least one fixing plate (8) whose plane is parallel to the pivot plane. At least one fixing magnet is joined to the other part and rests in frictional contact with the associated fixing plate.
