The method involves generating a special area, all or part of the Compact Disc (CD), to be protected using a burning program. A boot region can be set using the CD boot setting option with a data size relative to that of the CD Read Only Memory (ROM) but not greater than 630 Megabytes . The size of the region set in the burner program is dependent on the emulation type in the case of a hard drive. The data and archives in the boot region are invisible after burning and fixing the CD ROM. Installation routines for making the data visible require a user password and can then be written onto the disk drive.
