The method is for the measurement in the aiming direction of the firing process and target hitting position with simulated firing against a projected picture. The firing of the weapon (5) initiates a signal (13), which is transmitted to a computer (7). The signal also initiates a pattern in the projected picture (2). The whole pattern or part of it is recorded by a camera (6) fitted on the weapon. The camera signals (15) are coupled to the computer. The computer calculates the position of the pattern in the camera picture. From the position data, the aiming direction of the weapon is calculated. The computer calculates the target hitting position from the calculated aiming direction at one or more times, the firing time point and the known and calculated entities by the simulator (9).
