[Also in Group VII] In an eccentric adapted to be adjusted radially by means of axially displaceable wedge members arranged on opposite sides of the shaft, the wedge members have a limited initial mobility in the axial direction while being resiliently actuated in the wedge directions. A disc 14 is positionally secured to a shaft 10 and carries in a slot 16 a slide 18 formed with an eccentric 20, the member 18 being slotted to receive wedge members 38, 40 axially adjustable by means of a sleeve 48 connected to the wedges by arms and pins 56 which engage in slots 62 in the wedges a clearance being allowed between the pins 56 and the sides of the slots 62. The pins 56 are axially adjustable for initial setting. Leafsprings 46 are secured to the wedge 40 and bear against the wedge 38. In a modification, Fig. 9a, wedges 238, 240 are slidable on a hollow shaft 210 in which is slidable a control shaft 252 in which is settably secured a pin 254 which projects through slots in the shaft 210 to engage grooves in the wedges. Leaf-springs 246 are secured to the wedge 240 and engage the wedge 238. In order to set the clearance between the pin and the grooves in the wedges, the pin 254 has an eccentric end 256 and is locked in position by a screw 251. |
