FIELD: methods of production of methanol. SUBSTANCE: method includes delivery of heated hydrocarbon-containing gas and compressed air to reaction zone, gas-phase oxidation of hydrocarbon gas at elevated temperature and increased pressure, cooling of reaction mixture in reactor and final oxidation of reaction mixture before separation; in the course of separation, cooled reaction mixture is separated into waste gases and liquid products; after separation, liquid products of separation are subjected to rectification at evolution of methanol and evacuation of waste gases. Process is performed at constant temperature ranging from 430 to 470 C and pressure of 8 MPa; delivery of starting hydrocarbon- containing gas from complex gas preparation plant is performed in two flows: first flow is heated to temperature of reaction and is fed directly to reaction zone inlet and second flow is fed after heating in gas-to-gas heat exchanger to temperature which allows cooling of reaction mixture at two stages: cooling by directly mixing it in reaction zone with inlet flow and cooling in tubular part of reactor through tube wall; final cooling of reaction mixture is performed in gas-to-liquid heat exchanger by means of raw methanol which is obtained in the course of separation and in gas-to-gas heat exchanger by means of cold starting hydrocarbon gas; waste gases are returned to complex gas preparation plant. Specific feature of plant consists in that source of hydrocarbon gas is complex gas preparation plant; cooling zone is tubular part of reactor ; reaction zone and cooling zone are provided with device for admitting the starting hydrocarbon gas heated in gas-to-gas heat exchanger to temperature allowing cooling of reaction mixture at two stages: by mixing it with flow of starting hydrocarbon gas heated in gas-to-gas heat exchanger directly in reaction zone and in tubular part of reactor through tube wall; device for final cooling of reaction mixture before separation is made in form of the following components arranged in succession: gas-to-liquid heat exchanger connected with reactor, separator and rectifying unit and gas-to-gas heat exchanger connected with reactor and complex gas preparation plant.
