PURPOSE: A field emission device using a carbon nano tube and a fabricating method thereof are provided to concentrate effectively the electric field and reduce the leakage current by using the carbon nano tube. CONSTITUTION: A lower electrode pattern(22) is formed on the first substrate(21). A gate insulating layer(23) and a gate hole are formed between the lower electrode patterns(22). A gate electrode(24) is formed on the gate insulating layer(23). A structure(26) is formed on the lower electrode pattern(22) and the gate hole. A carbon nano tube(27) is vertically arranged thereon. A catalytic metallic material(28) is plated on the lower electrode pattern(22). An upper electrode pattern is formed on the second substrate. A phosphor is coated on the upper electrode pattern. A lower plate and an upper plate are adhered each other.
