PURPOSE: A door opening/closing type muffler is provided to reduce noise and back pressure generated from the muffler by controlling the valve and door in accordance with the amount of exhaust gas. CONSTITUTION: A door opening/closing type muffler comprises a main body(10) having an inlet port(11) and an outlet port(12) formed at a lower chamber(13b) and an upper chamber(13a), respectively; a pinion valve(15) mounted to be rotatable between the upper chamber and the lower chamber, which opens/shuts the inlet port of the main body; a rack door(16) interlocked with the pinion valve, which opens/shuts the cut portion between the upper chamber and the lower chamber; and a driving unit(17) for driving the pinion valve in proportion to the amount of exhaust gas.
