PURPOSE: A device for protecting a driver for a vehicle is provided to minimize an injury to the lower body of a driver by spreading a shock absorbing member into a space between the lower body of the driver and a pedal arm in a vehicle crash. CONSTITUTION: In a brake device for a vehicle, a pedal-arm rotating unit rotates forcibly the lower end of a pedal arm(16) into the front side of the inside of the vehicle, and makes a space between the lower body of a driver and the pedal arm in a vehicle crash. A shock absorbing unit spreads a shock absorbing member(28) into the space between the lower body of the driver and the pedal arm, and protects the lower body of the driver. A power supply unit supplies the power to the pedal-arm rotating unit and shock absorbing unit. |
