METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR REMOVING ELECTROCHEMICALLY ORGANIC AND INORGANIC MATERIALS IN WASTEWATER USING ELECTRODES

PURPOSE: A method and apparatus for removing electrochemically organic and inorganic materials in wastewater discharged from desulfurization facilities are provided, which can treat wastewater with no use of chemical oxidizing agent. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises the steps of (i) applying electric current to SUS electrode (-) and to rhodium electrode (+) to decompose organics in wastewater and to remove positive ion in the form of hydroxide simultaneously; (ii) applying electric current to carbon electrode (-) and to carbon aerosol electrode (+) to adsorb negative ion; and (iii) applying electric current to activated carbon fiber electrodes to adsorb inorganic materials in the form of negative and positive ions.
