PURPOSE: A character message processing method of a mobile communication terminal is provided to allow a user to promptly and accurately access an message by searching a message containing a specific key word when the user wants, and by checking or deleting a content of the searched message. CONSTITUTION: When a user inputs a message check key provided at a key input unit(S100), a received message list is displayed at a display unit(S110). The user inputs a delete key provided at the key input unit(S120) to delete the whole messages on the received message list(S121). If the user inputs a search key(S130), a desired search type is displayed on the display unit and the user selects one of them(S140). If the user desires to perform a search through a router(S140), the user inputs a corresponding key. When the user desires to input time search key(S150) to perform a time search, the user inputs desired search time information through the key input unit(S160). Then, the display unit displays a message list including the desired search time(S170). When the user inputs a key word search key(S180) to perform a key word search(S180), the user inputs desired search key word information through the key input unit(S190). Then, the display unit displays a message list including the desired search key word(S200). The user moves to a desired message(S213), selects it(S214) and check the corresponding message(S215). After checking, the user inputs a delete key according to a importance level of the checked message(S216) and deletes it(S217).
