PURPOSE: A system of warning card abuse by using a portable terminal and a method thereof are provided to check card details whenever a user uses a card, and to warn the user of too much card amounts when the user excessively uses the card, thereby enabling the user to self-control the card. CONSTITUTION: A card reader(120) reads information of a credit card built in a portable terminal(110), and gives a receipt for card details. A communication service server(130) receives the read card details, and transmits a warning message to the portable terminal(110) when the card details exceed a set amount. A card service server(140) receives the card details to accumulate the details, and decides whether the accumulated card details exceed a preset amount. If the card details exceed the preset amount, the card service server(140) requests the communication service server(130) to transmit the warning message to the portable terminal(110).
