PURPOSE: To prepare a carrier for producing alkali water, coral sand is coated with nano metal oxides such as Al2O3, SiO2 and TiO2. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises the steps of mixing silica, alumina or metal oxide precursor, water, organic solvent to prepare colloidal sol; coating coral sand with the colloidal sol; drying the coated coral sand; heat treating the dried coral sand at 350 to 450 deg.C for 1 to 6 hrs, wherein the metal oxide precursor is more than one selected from metal isopropoxide, metal butoxide and metal ethoxide; and the organic solvent is more than one selected from ethanol, methanol and isopropanol.
