PURPOSE: A device for inspecting wear of a brake pad and the inspection method are provided to check the wear condition of the brake pad, without disassembling a brake device. CONSTITUTION: A device for inspecting wear of a brake pad comprises a radio frequency identifier device(10), storing data about the brake pad, converting the data into electromagnetic wave data; a radio reading device(20), reading the electromagnetic wave data output from the radio frequency identifier device; a memory device(70), storing a program, controlling the transmitting and receiving of data, and various data between the radio frequency identifier and the radio reading device; a key input device(30) with plural key input buttons, to input data; a display device(40), indicating display data; a clock device(50), supplying real time data; and a control device(60), controlling each device. Thus, the brake pad is effectively controlled and an accident caused by brake trouble is prevented.
