PURPOSE: A traveling control system for a traveling body is provided, which is capable of driving the traveling body to travel at a predetermined speed level and adaptively controlling the speed level according to conditions of a traveling lane, thereby enhancing the interest of a user. CONSTITUTION: The traveling control system comprises: a circuit having a plurality of marks(13); a traveling body(20) having driving unit(16) for driving the traveling body(20) to travel along a traveling lane(11); a light transmitting unit(24) for transmitting light to the marks(13) while the traveling body(20) travels; a light receiving unit(26) for receiving the light transmitted from the light transmitting unit(24) and outputting a light receiving signal; a speed level switch(30) for receiving the light receiving unit(26) and transferring a start signal for switching a speed level to a preset speed level to the driving unit(16); and an input unit(32) for setting a speed level for each mark and inputting the same to speed level switch(30).
