PURPOSE: An Ethernet system enabling power supply through UTP(Unshielded Twisted Pair) cables is provided to supply power via the UTP cables to each DTE(Data Terminal Equipment) connected to a hub through the UTP cables, so as to enable power supply without using additional power cables. CONSTITUTION: A power over LAN(Local Area Network) module(24) is connected to a power supply(20) through the first power cable(21) and connected to a hub(22) through the first UTP cable(23), to merge power supplied from the power supply(20) and an Ethernet signal delivered between the hub(22) and a DTE(29). A splitter(26) is connected to the power over LAN module(24) through the second UTP cable(25) and connected to the DTE(29) through the second power cable(27) and the third UTP cable(28). Also, the splitter(26) divides the power and the Ethernet signal merged in the power over LAN module(24), to provide the divided power and Ethernet signal to the DTE(29) through the second power cable(27) and the third UTP cable(28).
