SEMICONDUCTOR DEVICE AND METHOD FOR INITIALIZING INTERFACE CARDS USING SERIAL-EEPROM

PURPOSE: A semiconductor device and a method for initializing interface cards using serial-EEPROM is provided to perform initialization of interface cards without increasing the circuit area. CONSTITUTION: In the initialization process, the DMA sets an operation channel for performing automatic initialization of the semiconductor device in reset state(410). The initialization information is read by the serial-EEPROM according to the operation channel after cancellation of the reset of the semiconductor device(420). The initialization information is recorded in a register of the interface to initialize the semiconductor device(430). The DMA generates a signal informing completion of the initialization(440). The interface and the DMA are automatically set in a state for preparation of normal operation(450).
