PURPOSE: Provided is a method for modifying the surface of mica with TiO2 by mechanochemical effect arising from dry milling in an oval mixer. The surface-modified mica shields ultra violet rays, and improves flow and mixing properties. CONSTITUTION: The surface modified mica is produced by dry ball-milling high purity mica having a large particle size and TiO2 having a small size, corresponding to 0.15times finer than mica particles, in an oval mixer. The oval mixer contains vessel(10), rotor(20) and balls as media, wherein a gap(C) between vessel and rotor is 0.8-1.2times of particle size, the size of balls is 0.3-0.8times of the gap, the feeding rate of raw materials is 0.3-1.5times of pores of powder, and the amount of balls fed into the mixer is 10-60%, based on the volume of raw materials.
