The device comprises plurality of implants (1) that can be screwed into one or more vertebrae (0). Thus a rigid joint is provided between the vertebrae and at least one plate (2). The plate is elongate in shape and at one end is provided wit at least one longitudinally elongate opening. The opening has at least one part opening onto an edge of the plate and one part of a sufficiently large size to be able to be inserted without disassembly in the fixation means (12,4) of an implant screwed into the spine.
