PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly corrosion resistant separator for a fuel cell by using aluminum having advantages in strength, light weight, workability, and cost performance as a base material. SOLUTION: In this separator for the fuel cell, a protection layer 11c is formed on the surface of the base material 10 consisting of aluminum, and the protection layer 11c is constructed of a porous positive electrode oxide coating 20 and a metal layer 30 layered on its outside. The metal layer 30 is constructed of a foundation metal layer 32 containing one or more kinds of metal among Ni, Sn, Cr, Co, Cu, Fe and Zn and a main metal layer 31 containing one or more kinds of metal among Au, Ru, Rh, Pd, Os, Ir and Pt. |
