PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a biaxial actuator thin and also to improve the reliability of an operation of the biaxial actuator. SOLUTION: Both end parts of magnets 18 in a tracking direction are formed as pairs of first magnetized parts 18a, 18a, etc., where surface sides facing tracking coils 14, 14, etc., are respectively magnetized to the same polarity, parts between the pairs of the first magnetized parts of the magnets are formed as second magnetized parts 18b, 18b, etc., where surface sides facing the tracking coils 14, 14, etc., are magnetized to a polarity different from that of the first magnetized parts, inner parts 14a, 14a, etc., located on the central part side in the tracking direction of the magnets are located facing the second magnetized parts of the magnets with respect to a plurality of tracking coils 14, 14, etc., and outer parts 14b, 14b, etc., located on both end part sides in the tracking direction of the magnets are located facing the first magnetized parts of the magnets.
