PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for mounting a component accurately at a specified position of a substrate. SOLUTION: The component mounter comprises a section 19 for optically recognizing a component 21 held by a component suction nozzle 1, and a control section 30 for correcting the position of the component suction nozzle 1 based on the recognition results at the recognizing section 19. The component suction nozzle 1 has a part (reflective plane) 15 being recognized by the recognizing section 19 in order to recognize a specified position on a suction face 6 and the recognizing section 19 recognizes the specified position on the suction face 6 by recognizing the part 15 being recognized. The control section 30 corrects the position of the component suction nozzle 1 using the specified position on the suction face 6 obtained at the recognizing section 19 and the position of the component 21 held by the component suction nozzle 1.
