PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an encoding/decoding method which associates modulation and demodulation with channel encoding and decoding so that the performance of a modulation system having many states is improved at decoding level. SOLUTION: A repetitive decoding method uses a pair of SISO decoders which receive probability information components for a symbol on an input side and generate posteriori probability information components for a sent information symbol on an output side. This method is applied to a field of digital electronic communication.
