PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bar code reader to simply perform operations of a mobile phone. SOLUTION: The bar code reader of this invention is provided with; a bar code read section for reading a bar code; a model information storage section for storing model information of a mobile phone being a connection opposite party; an operation command storage section for storing operation commands of each model; a command generating section for generating the operation commands corresponding to the model information on the basis of an output of the bar code read section by referencing contents of the operation command storage section; and a communication section for transmitting the generated operation commands to the mobile phone being the connection opposite party.
