PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color cathode-ray tube which can curtail landing deterioration with time by way of color drift due to thermal expansion of a color- sorting electrode and a method of forming a metal thin film for fluorescent reflection. SOLUTION: A metal thin film for fluorescent reflection 6 is formed on a phosphor screen 3 inside a face plate panel of a color cathode-ray tube opposite to a color-sorting electrode 4, and light emitted from the phosphor screen 3 is reflected to the front of the face plate panel. The side in contact with the phosphor screen 3 of the metal thin film for fluorescent reflection 6 is to be of a high reflectance face 6a, and the side opposing the color-sorting electrode of a low reflectance face 6b. With this, radiation heat from the color- sorting electrode 4 accompanied by temperature rise of the color-sorting electrode 4 can be effectively absorbed with the metal thin film for phosphor reflection 6, and landing deterioration with time that is color drift due to thermal expansion of the color-sorting electrode 4 can be curtailed.
