PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an integrated circuit which improves such a conventional technical problem that it is necessary to provide a specific register interface and specific driver software for each communication interface. SOLUTION: The integrated circuit having a first processing unit and at least first and second communication interfaces for the first progressing unit communicating according to at least first and second communication protocols, is characterized in that register sets (IRI1, IRI2, IRIN) for respective communication interfaces (CI1, CI2, CIN) are provided, and a specific register function is accessed independently of the selection of the first or second communication interface (CI1, CI2, CIN).
