PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method capable of producing an organic electroluminescent element having an organic thin film layer of large area in a short time. SOLUTION: This method for producing the organic electroluminescent element comprises steps of forming a first electrode on a substrate; preparing a solution containing a hole carrier organic material, an electron carrier organic material and a light emitting organic material; atomizing the solution on the first electrode by use of a pressurized gas to form the organic thin film layer; and forming a second electrode on the organic thin film layer.
