PRODUCT THEREOF The present discloses a process for mirror-like brightening in plastic cards of approximately 0.38mm (approximately 15 inch millesimals) previously printed and varnished by one or both of their faces. The varnishing is performed in a varnisher, modified for the present invention and the brightening is performed in hot presses at temperatures ranging between 120 and approximately 300°C. The material to be brightened is subdued at a minimal pressure of approximately 318kg-force (approximately 5500 pounds- force), between approximately 120°C and approximately 300°C and during approximately 10 to approximately 25 minutes of permanence, the brightened material is cooled between presses which are cooled down by water at temperatures ranging between approximately 5° and approximately 10°C, for approximately 10 to 25 minutes. The useful material for this invention is selected between PVC sheets, polyesters, polyethylenes and polycarbonates of approximately 0.38mm (approximately 15 inch millesimals) thus obtaining a flexible sheet of printed and brightened material. It is also possible to obtain more rigid sheets and double-size thickness by coupling two sheets of approximately 0.38mm (approximately 15 inch millesimals), printed by one side each and placed in a way the printed faces can form the obverse and reverse after been merged in the rolling-press. Simple or double sheets can also be obtained with mirror- like brightening in a single face; if vellum paper is placed in between a face or material to be brightened and the hot press, the side where vellum paper is does not brighten and will remain rugged, which is useful if it is used for signing or writing on that side, for instance in credit cards or ID cards. The invention is ideal to fabricate credit cards, ID cards or prepaid telephonic cards, but it is also useful for obtaining products that are eventually cut or stamped in different sizes.
