The container (1), having one or more openings with fastening covers (2a, 2b) to seal in a modified atmosphere which keeps the contents fresh. One of the covers (2a) has an electrical connector (3) and is fitted with an electronic unit (4) with a programmer, digital clock and heater. It is also able to extract air from the container and replace it with a modified gas atmosphere. The container, which can be made in various colours, shaped and sizes, and with a rechargeable power supply, also has hooks (5) for hanging it from an article of furniture or a wall when one does not want to stand it on a horizontal surface.
