PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reader capable of obtaining stable image quality even when a temperature rise or fall takes place by suppressing positional fluctuations of a solid-state imaging element array due to the effect of a temperature change. SOLUTION: The image reader is provided with: a solid-state imaging element array 1 to obtain image data from an optical image; a guided part 2a provided to extend over two edges opposed to each other in the solid-state imaging element array 1 or a board 2 on which the solid-state imaging element array 1 is mounted; and a support member 3 extended along the guided part 2a and provided with a guide 3a with a shape to which the guided part 2a fits. The support member 3 clamps the solid-state imaging element array 1 or the board 2 through the fitting between the guided part 2a and the guide 3a.
