PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a charger or the like for a portable telephone which can charge the battery of the telephone, and which can easily observe various information received by the telephone, even by a person who has hard time seeing small characters or the like. SOLUTION: The charger 1 for the portable telephone comprises a charging part, a resolution variable liquid crystal display part 35, a connector for charging, and a connector for transmitting information. The connector for the charging connects the battery of the telephone 100 to the charging part, so as to be able to be energized for the battery of the telephone 100 to be charged by the charging part. The connector for transmitting the information connects the telephone 1 to the display part 35, so as to be able to transmit the information so that the information received by the telephone 10 can be sent to the display part 35 and can be displayed. The display can be enlarged, as compared with the case that the information is displayed on a liquid crystal display part, 103a provided in the telephone 100 by changing the resolution of the display part 35.
