SYNCHRONOUS DETECTION/PROTECTION METHOD AND OPTICAL DISK RECORDER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for detecting a proper data bit in a disk of a wobble phase modulation method while performing detection/protection for 1st and 2nd synchronizing signals having different occurrence periods and patterns, and to further provide an optical disk recorder capable of controlling the recording in the optical disk recorder of a land prepit method by arranging a means for converting the address information detected from the disk of the wobble phase modulation method to a land prepit signal. SOLUTION: As to the synchronization detection/protection method, the phase modulated 1st and 2nd synchronizing signals in a reproduced wobble signal from the optical disk of the wobble phase modulation method have different occurrence periods and patterns. By the detection of the 1st and 2nd synchronizing signals, the period protection for the 1st synchronizing signal is performed from a phase modulation part of the reproduced wobble signal, and then the period protection of the 2nd synchronizing signal is performed by using the detection result of the 1st synchronizing signal.
