PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the diversity effect of a diversity system, generally applied to a down line of a CDMA radio communication system, from becoming worse and to prevent transmitting electric power from being dissipated. SOLUTION: A communication terminal decides reception quality according to a pilot channel signal sent from a base station and sends the decision result of the reception quality to the base station. The base station selects an antenna to be connected by radio to the communication terminal according to the decision result of the reception quality sent from the communication terminal and carries out control for sending a data channel signal from the selected antenna and no data channel signal from an antenna in inferior propagation path environment.
