PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system for receiving and distributing calendar information indicated by a format based on a document or outputted to an electronic format. SOLUTION: In this system for acquiring calendar information from one or more calendar sources and distributing it, the calendar information is defined by a user in a method of easily incorporating the acquired calendar information into a calendar database of an individual or a group. A collecting and distributing unit 100 is provided for acquiring calendar information from a prescribed calendar source 122. If necessary, the collecting and distributing unit converts the acquired calendar information into a prescribed format. Calendar data are distributed to the collecting and distributing unit according to the preference specified by a subscriber record 410.
