摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of forming a substrate for electrophotographic photoreceptor by working the surface of an aluminum or aluminum alloy cylinder which has a sufficient vibration damping effect when used for the electrophotographic device, is difficult in working and has a plurality of axial through-holes at its section. SOLUTION: The method of manufacturing an electrophotographic substrate by working the aluminum or aluminum alloy cylinder having the holes penetrating in the axial direction of a lotus root form at its section is characterized in manufacturing the substrate for electrophotographic photoreceptor by (1) first boring the center of the cylindrical body with a hole, then subjecting the surface of the cylindrical body to machining, polishing or grinding or (2) first boring the center of the cylindrical body with the hole, then subjecting this hole to socket and spigot working and subjecting the surface of the cylindrical body to machining, polishing or grinding, or (3) subjecting the hole existing at the center from beginning to socket and spigot working, then subjecting the surface of the cylindrical body to machining, polishing or grinding.
