PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To implement means for separating an arbitrary packet in a multiplexed transport stream at a high rate by software. SOLUTION: The receiver comprises means for previously judging a packet not to be displayed, and means for separating a packet (PMT) for containing PID composing a program not to be displayed and collecting the PMT data.
