PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which can efficiently capture magnetic flux from an exciting coil to transduce it into thermal energy and has a fixing roller not lowering the temperature at the end parts. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus has a hollowcylinder-shaped fixing roller in which the exciting coil is arranged, and a pressure roller to press the fixing roller. The image forming apparatus is further provided with a fixing device which loads a high frequency alternating current to the exciting coil to generate an eddy current in the fixing roller and thereby to generate heat in the fixing roller, and is characterized in that the opening parts at both ends in the axial direction of the fixing roller are incurvated.
