PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent falling of collapsed debris of the upper layer part onto the discharge cell, while securing the partition function of a bulkhead in the PDP which has a double layer structure of a bulkhead made of a lower layer part having large compression breaking strength and an upper layer part having small compression breaking strength. SOLUTION: The bulkhead 7 is made of a lower layer part 7B provided on the rear side substrate and an upper layer part 7T provided on top of the lower layer part 7B. The upper layer part 7T has a compression breaking strength smaller than that of the lower layer part 7B and its width WT is narrower than the width WB1 of the upper face of the lower layer part 7B, and, when the bulkhead is viewed from the longitudinal direction, it is retracted from the edge of the upper face of the lower layer part 7B. Even if the edge portion of the upper layer part 7T is crashed and falls in, the falling debris remains at the upper face of the lower layer part 7B and at the stepped portion 9 on both sides of the upper layer part 7T and does not fall into the discharge cell. It is effective if the upper layer part 7T is retracted by 20μm or more from the edge of the upper face of the lower layer part 7B, with the hight of 5-10μm.
